I heard some women who experience this during pregnancy, but I wanted to see if someone describe their experiences in this regard? 9DPO today and this morning I had a strange taste in the back of my mouth. I guess you could describe as a kind of metal, but mostly sweet or something. That takes all day and never had this before, so I wanted to see if anyone had similar experience? A metallic taste is certainly a sign of early pregnancy. Many women experience this.
I'm in the TWW, but I'm only 4 DPO. My site TWW rank as one of the symptoms, and there is an explanation:
"Dysgeusia is the medical term for a change in your sense of taste, usually a bitter or metallic taste, which continues even if you do not eat. Hormones, especially estrogen, play a role in controlling the sense of taste. While pregnancy hormone levels flutuate fairly broad, and can thus change their sense of taste or change. As the nausea and morning sickness should diminish or disappear in the second quarter. There are certain things you can do to counter the acidic foods like lemon juice and lemonade, and when your stomach is a food processing, marinated in vinegar - like cucumbers can fight! Try brushing your tongue when you brush teeth, neutralize and rinse with a solution of salt or baking low pH .
